To ALMA (secretary for the substitute teachers)
In regard to you yelling at me as I was waiting at a table for the students to get their books: I did not appreciate being yelled at & thought it was unwarranted & unnecessary. I had two laptops on my shoulders (which I will not leave unattended in a classroom) & these students were old enough & independent enough to wait in line patiently with me sitting nearby in case they needed help.
If there was any reason you needed me to show a roster or sign a paper you could have simply asked me, not yelled at me, or sent a student over to get me. I am also aware that some students think they know "how" a teacher should teach & act & conduct themselves, yet they can't seem to follow the rules themselves.
Some people think I should be standing right next to them in line & babysitting them? I disagree. That's not my job. I made sure they arrived at the book room safely & waited in the vicinity while they got their books, & made sure they returned safely. It was a cheap shot for you to yell at me the way you did. I am a grown, educated man & my work for the LAUSD is a GIFT. I don't do it for the money. VanderKOK
