re ARMENIAN ARROGANCE & CONDESCENSION TOWARDS ANGLO-AMERICANS
Reading about Auschwitz reminded me of the Armenian gal who cut my hair in Glendale, California (aka "little Armenia") & Armenian arrogance..she asked me dubiously if I knew about the Armenian genocide..I say "dubiously" because she had already stereotyped me as a stupid American...as if ALL AMERICANS are stupid & none of them are aware of what has happened in world history anywhere at any time..its VERY CONDESCENDING of them...& actually very INSULTING, & if she was so concerned about people not knowing world history or Armenian history, why doesn't she stay in school & become a teacher or professor & help educate people about history ?
Ironically, its some of the American Armenians themselves who don't know their own history, & who have been slow to talk about this chapter in their history & inform others of the tragedy & to show us they care about what happened. Its only recently that Armenians in America have started to memorialize the genocide publicly & allow all Americans to become more aware of how devestated they were by this terrible event.
I'm terribly sorry that so many innocent people were killed in the Armenian genocide. Its tragic. Its also tragic that some of my ancestors died fighting for the north in the Civil War. Does she know about the Civil War ?
