STUDENTS SHOULD BE INFORMED that TEACHERS are "ACTORS" just like ANY OTHER PROFESSIONAL...

...sometimes students DON'T TRUST ENOUGH, other times they TRUST TOO MUCH...meaning they put too much absolute confidence in a teacher ...not that they should not trust him or her but that they should realize the TEACHER has limited power outside the classroom.....& so we (or I) put on my "teacher hat" when I come to a school & basically "play teacher" for a day.

Granted, I have the requisite education to do so & so I'm not a "fake" or a "poser" but especially as a substitute teacher I feel more like an actor than the actual thing, especially when I don't have faith in other spheres (like the legal system).

To varying extents that's the way it is for most professions. If you're a good enough, consistent actor, with some know-how & education, we call you the "real thing", but its still an ACTING JOB to a certain extent. You might not have a lot of faith in some spheres of the community, but you go thru the motions anyways & ACT LIKE you do, & hope for the best acting from others as well. When we all ACT together its a great production called REAL LIFE.
