1/25/11 NOTES FROM MY VISIT TO LAUSD & UTLA ON JANUARY 25, 2011
..I got an escort today at the district office in downtown los angeles ..& I prayed while I was there... ..- was on the elevator with the escort & a bunch of lausd office employees ..& I started talking aloud about being with the lausd for thirteen years ...how proud I am about my service..& that I "would die for the LAUSD..." I MEANT THAT in terms of protecting the kids or staff..but my escort John Gray said, "You better think about your choice of words ..." .they're all so "scared"..its crazy...these people need to go to church more often.build up their courage..I'm NOT suicidal or homicidal..just willing to help others & even possibly at the risk of my life ...that's all I was saying..when I first started going into classrooms I was a little nervous as well..but I have NO FEAR a all now..b/c I know people.. a lot of irrationalfear comes from ignorance & lack of exposure ..and that's something people need to take responsibility for improving..esp people who work in education..
..Ha ha..they are trying to profile me as an "angry white man" ..shame on them..shameless behavior after I've worked with them & for them for 13 years...
..certified mail only proves the letters were sent ...not that I received them..I asked to see the green cards with my signature but he couldn't show me that..John said the Ed Code says all that is required is they be sent by certified mail..but I don't believe it ..that's NOT proof I received any letter ..that's why there's a thing called service-of-process ...and a person has to sign for it or be handed it by a process server ...
..& one thing that bothered me was that during the initial phone call on January 20 (my birthday)..I was told bluntly that I was being separated from employment with the LAUSD...I wasn't told I had an opportunity to appeal...wouldn't have known if I hadn't asked to speak to JOHN's supervisor (Ira Berman) .. Ira called me later that day...decent conversation..but today he disappeared when I showed up ..don't worry Ira, I'm not angry & I'm not dangerous..peace brother..
..so I spoke with John about the ISR's I came to pick up... an ISR is an "Insufficient Service Report" given by schools to substitutes if they feel the substitute has performed inadequately ..I was informed on January 20, 2011 (my birthday) that I had three ISR'S unbeknownst to me..I had NOT been informed of any of them..which is standard procedure so that a teacher can explain or defend himself..on two of these forms I noticed the name signed as "principal" was not actually the principal ..making me suspicious that these were forged documents by lower level employees who had a bias against me. (I.e racial or personality related)...in 2 of the 3 situations ..it was a personality conflict with a worker (not a teacher nor the principal) ..

I'm at LAUSD, got ISR's from Lena at 1145am, checked health tb test, its good ..they said woody was looking for Ira...then they said they saw them walking down the stairs together..15th floor.. strange that woody would run away w/ ira..John braashfield said acc to the ed code, all they have to do is sent it by cert mail. I said its more like a proof-of-service..need signature or hand it to me..
1/24 rcvd call from Ed Cass. He said my status w/ utla is "inactive"..he had my el segundo address (very old).. he said call trigstead re appeal, he wants to see the ISR ... spoke w/ mike gibson (or gipson ?) who is filling in for Jose Govea for the week. He wants to see a copy of the ISR. (FAX to 213-487-1618), also left voice mail for Govea . Called emp relations, spoke w/ kim at 941am; spoke w/ harvey sternheim at 10am ..mentioned the issue at audobon ...he said "u know ur not supposed to leave until they have coverage..." actually they already had sombody covering my assignment & wanted me to cover PE instead ...when they wouldn't give me my orig assignment, combined with the rudeness, I decided to leave ..: harvey called back, wants copies of checks showing change of address ..1036am I'm @ pico & crenshaw ....now I'm at LAUSD ...Ira's office is 14-225
