4/13/11 CAN BUD SELIG SAVE BASEBALL ?
thanks to
for the above pic (pic & info from forbes mag, april 11, 2011) ..surprising info..re mets debt as well as dodgers debt. mets had several accounts with bernie madoff that disappeard when madoff went down..thus mets relied on a $25 million loan from mlb

...meanwhile, frank mccourt,

owner of dodgers (or co-owner with his ex-wife?) racked up $459 million in debt , much for personal use..wow ! that is "staggering" ....funny thing is when I was at the mlb all-star game this summer in Anaheim..I took a few pics & vids ..and one of them at end of game with bud selig awarding the mvp trophy..got "flagged" by mlb as violating their copyright.. I couldn't believe it..I was AT the game..not posting tv highlights..I did film part of the scoreboard for a closeup...but really didn't expect a "copyright objection"...anyways..I removed it, but it counts as a "strike" against me (despite my "objection" to it & expressed willingness to contest it..youtube has let it sit as a strike)..point is that mlb nitpicks about something like a little video onYoutube

which actually promotes the game and probably increases their profit ...yet they have enormous problems and continue to treat the average fan as a "schmuck" (a fool)..its a shame..and McCourt has all this debt but hasn't fixed the problems & issues at the stadium ?
thanks to http://cdn.bleacherreport.net for the pic of Brian Stow..keep praying for him and his family
(the Brian Stow beating being a climax of the problem)...
thanks to http://cbsla.files.wordpress.com for the above image of the suspected assailants of Brian Stow @ Dodger Stadium, opening day 2011
...well, let's hope baseball can get back on track..like "honest tea" let's hope & pray for some "honest baseball"
in the near future, beginning with the owners and managment...by the way, my condolences to the mets for an unforseeable (I assume) predicament with the madoff matter...

...(however, when I was in Nyc a few summers ago, I wanted to go to a mets game and actually went to a ticket window there but even the cheapest ticket was extravagently priced..in the above $20 range..meanwhile, at the new yankee stadium I called on game day an hour before game time & the guy gave me an empty handicap seat for $5 bucks..that's class..great game, great seat, great stadium...& I made sure it was OK to buy a handicap seat despite not being handicapped..the guy said they can sell them at a certain point if not sold prior to game time...)
