I didn't receive a response from you about whether Holy Wave is a presbyterian church. Anyways, I also wanted to let you know I was a bit disappointed with your divisive use of the word "Afrikaaner" & the Dutch name "Vander___" a few weeks ago. Sure, there were many Dutch Afrikaaners guilty of persecuting black people in South Africa decades ago, just as some white people persecuted blacks as slaves in America years ago.
But then there were just as many, or more, "whites", as well as white Dutch-Americans who DIED for the sake of setting blacks free in the Civil War in America (some of whom were my ancestors; walk thru any cemetery around West Michigan & other Dutch areas of the northern USA & midwest & see how many Dutch names are listed as Civil War veterans (for the north, obviously).
I'm not as familiar with the Boer war(s), but I'm sure NOT ALL BOERS, and not all Dutch South Africans (Afrikaaners) were so cruel to black people as the one example you provided. Also, not all Dutch South-Africans agree with the term "Afrikaaner" as an appropriate description of them as one whole group (here's a quote from Wikipedia:
"...in recent times, mainly during the apartheid reform and post-1994 eras many more white Afrikaans-speaking people, mainly with "conservative" political views and of Trekboer and Voortrekker descent, have preferred to be[ 9] called "Boers" or Boere-Afrikaners, rather than 'Afrikaners.' I understand you want to emphasize the importance of Christians being kind towards others, but clearly the white South African you mentioned by the name of Vander___ was not a Christian. Thus he doesn't represent Christianity, nor Dutch people (think of all the Dutch in the Netherlands who never went to S. Africa and never were part of apartheid, as well as the Dutch in S. Africa who were more benevolent &
simply born into it.) Furthermore, think of the good Dutch people, including Corrie TenBoem, who were active in protecting Jewish people from persecution by the Nazis, at the risk of their lives.
If you want to discuss criminal behavior & aspects of the news in your Sunday homily (sermon) to highlight a point, I encourage you to do so without emphasis on race or nationality of the criminal, which is divisive and the opposite of what a church should be doing or attempting to do, which is uniting people.
In America, as you may or may not know, some people have accused Koreans or Korean-Americans as taking advantage of black people by opening liquor stores in black neighborhoods. That may be true, but I don't think it would be something to mention in a Sunday message, at least not with an emphasis on race or nationality because the risk is that somebody may walk out thinking badly of all Korean-Americans just as
somebody may have walked out of your message a few weeks ago thinking LESS of white people of Dutch descent, or specifically those with a prefix of "Vander" in their name.
If the church is to maintain its integrity, it must NOT acquiesce to creating a divisive "us-them" identity
(ie we are all good & they are all bad). I am a Christian, in the Spirit, & striving to live by the Spirit & tell the Good News of Jesus Christ. I also have a heritage (Dutch), and a skin color (white), and a nationality (American), all of which can be used for or against me by others according to their prejudice or lack of. We all experience this at one time or another and church should be striving to eliminate this as much as possible, not accentuate it.
I normally appreciate your high-energy messages & a lot of the good points you make, as well as your love of family & friends. Keep up the good work ! For the kingdom !
By the way, I might add that the "poor white" person in America is the highest victim of "hate crime"; thus anything that contributes to generalized anger or hate towards all white people is certainly contributing to some of the erroneous justification of persecution of whites today. And I know you don't want to simply depopularize white people as an entire class of persons, or Dutch-Americans, et al. right ? That would be just as wrong as a "white church" using negative examples of Koreans in their Sunday message.

Oh, I think you are making reference to some of the art pieces I taped at getty museum and/or norton simon museum. Is that correct ? Those are all million dollar pieces of art. I understand any mainstream video website is going to be rightfully cautious & concerned about "porno" , but this is art .. I think it is important for society not to think of the naked body as solely "sexual."
Our bodies are also made in the image of God (imago Deo). I am a Christian and not just a church-goer once a week but actively working for the sake of the Kingdom ...and one point I want to emphasize as a Christian evangelical is that the body is good, albeit not solely a sexual object, and not to be exploited as such. Thus, when the subject of the body naturally fits into the context of a larger whole, it should be included as such. When I go thru an art museum and 95% of the artwork is of clothed humans, which I videotape, but then I exclude 5% because they are naked it is unfair to the "big picture." In some case its unfair to exclude the naked body.

It was a news story , a true story ...if u take a look at my website u will notice I regularly report current news items & some of the crazier stuff as well ...nonetheless news ..and I added a little visual aid ..which was kind of funny I thought..it was NOT sexual at all..a picture of a breast or breasts is not necessarily a sexual image..and not all people think of breasts as "sexual"..simply functional (to feed babies) ..I myself as a religious person think of breasts as both functional & spiritual, but not so much sexual.
In fact, the Bible uses breasts as an analogy for the church, in the book of Songs in particular. Those who see the breasts solely as sexual and object to any and all images of the breast apart from specific "instructional" or "educational" videos ( I've seen some of the breastfeeding videos onYouTube and they seem to be posted for prurient interest, not anything truly educational, & some of the comments attest to such) ...but since I am a male, and maybe you have profiled me in a negative way, anything & everything that somebody objects to, you immediately place in a nefarious category, whether its a copyright matter or now a "community guidelines" matter.
I believe the body is GOOD and made by God in the IMAGO DEO (image of God) & that sexuality is good. I don't believe people need to be ashamed of their bodies, nor that the body should be used solely for pornographic or prurient purposes. Occassionally, the subject of sex & the body arises for various reasons & should be included naturally as such in a person's website (YouTube site) if it fits with their general theme & purpose .
I cover the news, some on YouTube, but also elsewhere, including www.TheDailyNews4U.posterous.com . This includes the Good News but also daily news: the good, the bad, & the ugly (as well as the funny, odd, unique, etc). In fact, I'm starting to get a little advertising income from another website where I post news items of interest. Just because I show a picture of a breast, you deem it to be "sexually inappropriate"? Is it because its a breast on "VanderKok's" site that would merely be an innocent breast on any other YouTube site ? If so, why ? I'm in good standing with my church & community. I'm not a sexual offender.
LITERALLY, 1000's of my vids are devoted to church & God...yet a pic of a breast (actually a drawing) , with a little "wink" about a somewhat harmless, kind of humorous story about a woman "shooting" a cop with her breast milk is considered a violation ? This was not pornography . If some people get a perverted, prurient interest out of a drawing of a breast, then what about all the breastfeeding videos ? I've seen some of the comments below them.
And searching other items, there are numerous examples of "sexual content" on YouTube that go far beyond my small depiction of a breast and a corresponding news story. It feels a little bit as if I am being picked on by YouTube, and also raises the question about why YouTube played "Mickey Mouse" with me re the copyright counter-notifications I've filed.
