5/31/11 SD ZOO & SEAWORLD LOG:  Sd zoo ....Sd zoo log, arrived around opening @ 9a ..bought coffee for $3.25..too much room for cream ..put coke in ..made a coffee coke combo ...flamingos, now koalas 946a, ..now ring-tailed lemur from madagascar (pics), southern hairy nosed wombat australia , lasiorhinus latifrons 953; buerger's tree kangaroo , australasia, not moving 956a; domestic bactrian camel of asia 959a; Got a great shot KLIPSRINGER (oreotragus oreotragus) standing very still .; sw african meerkat (suricata suricatta hahni fr angola to s. Africa); califirnia condor 1020a; live ! YES, THE CALIFORNIA CONDOR IS A VULTURE ....says the sign at sd zoo...they "feed on carrion, sticking their head into carcasses". ...1020a; rattlesnake 1026a; turtle 1032a, elephants 1034 as I turn& snap a elderly lady ducks...& says "sorry honey..so sorry" as if I care if she or anybody walks in front of my camera..u can tell the oldsters from the rest in that regard..b/c there was a time when every pic mattered..b/c u only had so many shots on a roll of film ...remember ? I do..I'm old enough to remember..12 24 36 ..size kodak rolls..or fuji .those where the two big film sellers..some used polaroid cameras..all cost money...nowadays..apart from storage disc size, pics are pretty much unlimited.if sb walks in front of the cam..no biggie..delete * click again..or with repeat shutter..it doesn't matter at all..delete later ..; black-billed magpie (north am)& secretary bird (africa); past conrad prebys elephant care center 1052am; guanaco (wild relative of llama fr andes mt, s america) 1053am; live! BAIRD'S TAPIR RELIEVES HIMSELF AS THE GUANACOS WATCH ..; baby baird's tapir enters the water 11am ..guanacos still acting anxious..oh..they r temporarily out of their normal pen..b/c the keeper was cleaning ; jaguar lion 1123a ..jaguar chewing on bone then pooped, lion pacing ..; sichuan takin fr asia, near sichuan, a province of central china; 1139a on the tram ...so I left sd zoo & stopped at mcdonalds..ordered chicken sandwich ..then decided I could make it to the 1pm shamu show @ seaworld...& made it by 1pm ...unfort. I read the schedule wrong ..it starts at1230p...& was just finishing when I arrived ..so I went to the cirque de le mer show..first time seeing it..the only show they do in the open water..with acrobats & a jetski ..but no animals..I thought to myself..why not turn this into a dolphin pen ? Maybe its too insecure .enjoyed the sealion show, blue horizons & the 5pm shamu show (which has been modified..no longer the "believe" theme..but the "one world" theme..they still don't ride the whales or go into the water...ever since the incident..hopefully they will again some day) .
