10/31/11 RUDY GULIANI @ GET MOTIVATED, LOS ANGELES, CA (this was an all day seminary with numerous big name speakers including Joe Montana, Laura Bush, Lou Holtz, Bill Cosby, & a few others) [these r a few notes & audio I took, with someparts missing]"...I was a republican mayor of nyc, when I was campaigning, a guy said "I wouldn't vote 4 u if hell froze over, ..[dudes behind me]..no snow last 3 years of my admin..I know why, its as scientific as Al Gore's theory. ..these days, too much info, too fast, , need to read books,,I'm reading reckless endangerment, , I am a brainwashed yankee fan, ..need to take 5 mins..maybe 25 every day to stop, relax, ..must love people, weddings r discretionary, funeral's are necessary, best safety net is friends..."

Part of the "get motivated" seminar with a lot of big names, inncluding Colin Powell, Joe Montana,Lou Holyz, Stanley McChristal, among others, ..Laura spoke about the White House years, pre & post years as well, mentioned waiting for the election decision by the courts when the"zenmaster" (George) started "clearing brush" in Crawford , ..the change from cold war to war on terror, ..the 9 inaugural balls, , her emphasis on literacy as a former librarian, the National Book Festival, ..and of course 9/11 ...being bunkered down beneath the White House...she says she loved how George made her laugh, but the laughs were less after 9/11 ..she said she was "Bothered" by the malicious gossip & tabloid nonsense, but "Didn't let it get to her.."

Key to gospel is ressurection, 1 cor 15.1-6, "..if Christ not risen.." ..also resurrection was predicted...mentions several verses incl ps 16.10-11, acts 13.33, ..talks about proof of ress...tomb empty (4000 pound stone not easily pushed aside), seal broken (penalty by death), guards fled (also death penalty), body missing.., same body..(mentions seed analogy), 1 cor 15.42-43, luke 24.39, (he mentions bereans), acts 2.31 "raised in flesh", reference to gundry's study of "soma" (greek for flesh), witnesses, ring of authenticity, 1st appeard to mary mag (missed his point), also ress. (Pray4) LINDSAY LOHAN's PRECARIOUS PATH TO PLAYBOY

Lindsay Lohan caught my attention somewhere along the way &I've followed her journey, & have kept praying for her & sent her a Bible CD & even told her personally I am praying for her & blessed her when she arrived at court this summer. Now she's posing for playboy for a $1,000,000 , but that won't solve her long-term issues (of peace & eternal life). In fact, I don't think Obama himself wants blacks to vote for him just b/c he's black. Remember that actually Obama is only half-black. His mom was white. So the same black person who votes for Obama because he's black would vote against his mom if she were running for president versus a black candidate. Unless Obama has no true love or allegiance to his mother, he cannot be racist like the black person who "votes black" regardless & must despise such persons who vote solely on the basis of skin color. That would explain some of his disparaging remarks re blacks recently. Funny thing is that the black people who voted for Obama just becauses he's black may have gotten less of the bargain than they would had they voted white. Obama is not a "black lover" solely for the black cause & may not even think of himself as black, albeit his involvement with black panthers is confusing. He sends mixed messages to say the least.

St. Narcissus of Jerusalem

Life in second- and third-century Jerusalem couldn’t have been easy, but St. Narcissus managed to live well beyond 100. Some even speculate he lived to 160.
Details of his life are sketchy, but there are many reports of his miracles. The miracle for which he is most remembered was turning water into oil for use in the church lamps on Holy Saturday when the deacons had forgotten to provide any.

We do know that Narcissus became bishop of Jerusalem in the late second century. He was known for his holiness, but there are hints that many people found him harsh and rigid in his efforts to impose church discipline. One of his many detractors accused Narcissus of a serious crime at one point. Though the charges against him did not hold up, he used the occasion to retire from his role as bishop and live in solitude. His disappearance was so sudden and convincing that many people assumed he had actually died.

Several successors were appointed during his years in isolation. Finally, Narcissus reappeared in Jerusalem and was persuaded to resume his duties. By then, he had reached an advanced age, so a younger bishop was brought in to assist him until his death.

10/27/11 JOEL ROSENBERG: SPEAKING AT OC HARVEST re NEW Book

10/27/11 JOEL ROSENBERG DISCUSSES ISLAM & IRAN, & CHRISTIAN ISSUES @ GREG LAURIE's OC HARVEST CHURCH ....I think I saw him one before at a crusade/revival in coachella (not a harvest crusade) ..he was born into an orthodox Jewish family, but became a Christian..he's written several books including some fiction stories that seem to have some parallels, maybe even prophetic, to real life tragic events involving terror ...(I hope he's not putting ideas into the enemies mind which leads to it coming true) earlier this evening he was on the frank pastore radio show...he discusses the threat of iran to the world, including, or especially, America & Israel (I've been hearing a lot of talk recently about the importance of Israel having their own land & the importance of America "blessing" Israel..even one fellow on the radio said today that he believes our economy may be influenced positively or negatively by our posture towards America, & that because Obama has not been very favorable towards Israel, our economy has worsened..albeit I always thought the "new Israel" would be all Christian believers & didn't necessarily require actual, physical land for those specifically of Semitic heritage...I wonder if Rosenberg's Jewish upbringing pushes him, theologically, in that direction, even as a Christian ...) and Rosenberg talked about Mog & Magog (which he is convinced is a reference to what is now Russia) and other geographical names in the Bible, one of which he contends is for Iran,..the EXCITING thing about his speech (& there were many points which I can't cover all here& now) is that he believes Iran will be a central force for both good as well as potential evil.....the evil being their radicalism (albeit, he points out that not all Islams have a radical agenda)..especially if they get nuclear weapons, & especially if they align themselves with Iraq (which will be without USA Forces by the end of the year) & possibly Libya, among others,..BUT THE GOOD POTENTIAL is that some of the Sharia Muslims...if they get LED TO CHRIST will become a Great force for evangelical Christianity...and he gives an example of this Muslim who came to southern Cal & eventually came to Christ and is now known as the "Billy Graham of Iran" ..and so the thrust of his message is a reminder to us as evangelical Christians to keep praying for Iran & Muslims worldwide & keep doing (or begin doing) evangelism...& be willing to go to Muslim countries if you are called by God ..he gives an example of a group putting the Jesus film on satellite tv in the farsi language & one day an elderly lady in Iran came across it on satellite tv & watched it & it was the first time she had heard the gospel message..& she actually had a supernatural encounter with Jesus at that moment.... he emphasizes that the church needs to do more, much more, evangelically, & that our future as a country may depend upon it ...and I say AMEN to that ! as for all the interpretation of times & places in the bible..even though I went to seminary & studied greek & hebrew (& a little aramaic & arabic )...interpretation of that nature is too complex for me....I'm more of a "simple evangelical" emphasizing bringing the good news in one way or another to all people & hoping & praying for the best, & then depending on God to do the rest,..but YES, eachof us will be judged according to the fruits we bear...so don't take it too nonchalantly, yet don't become legalistic either, thinking u can get to heaven "by works" ...the fruit will be a natural product, not something contrived...it will, or should, come naturally & gracefully, from those who truly know they are saved sinners..the first step for some, in America, is realizing they are sinners (we all are, but modern society doesn't want us to think so) ...anyways, u can find out more about Joel at his website, www.JoelRosenberg.com
