1.  Und er machte sich auf und kam von dannen an die Örter des jüdischen Landes jenseit des Jordans. Und das Volk ging abermals in Haufen zu ihm, und wie seine Gewohnheit war, lehrte er sie abermals. Getting up, He *went from there to the region of Judea and beyond the Jordan; crowds *gathered around Him again, and, according to His custom, He once more began to teach them. 2.  Und die Pharisäer traten zu ihm und fragten ihn, ob ein Mann sich scheiden möge von seinem Weibe; und versuchten ihn damit. Some Pharisees came up to Jesus, testing Him, and began to question Him whether it was lawful for a man to divorce a wife. 3.  Er antwortete aber und sprach: Was hat euch Mose geboten? And He answered and said to them, "What did Moses command you?" 4.  Sie sprachen; Mose hat zugelassen, einen Scheidebrief zu schreiben und sich zu scheiden. They said, "Moses permitted a man TO WRITE A CERTIFICATE OF DIVORCE AND SEND her AWAY." 5.  Jesus antwortete und sprach zu ihnen: Um eures Herzens Härtigkeit willen hat er euch solches Gebot geschrieben; But Jesus said to them, "Because of your hardness of heart he wrote you this commandment. 6.  aber von Anfang der Kreatur hat sie Gott geschaffen einen Mann und ein Weib. "But from the beginning of creation, God MADE THEM MALE AND FEMALE. 7.  Darum wird der Mensch Vater und Mutter verlassen und wird seinem Weibe anhangen, "FOR THIS REASON A MAN SHALL LEAVE HIS FATHER AND MOTHER, 8.  und werden die zwei ein Fleisch sein. So sind sie nun nicht zwei, sondern ein Fleisch. AND THE TWO SHALL BECOME ONE FLESH; so they are no longer two, but one flesh. 9.  Was denn Gott zusammengefügt hat, soll der Mensch nicht scheiden. "What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate." 10.  Und daheim fragten ihn abermals seine Jünger darum. In the house the disciples began questioning Him about this again. 11.  Und er sprach zu ihnen: Wer sich scheidet von seinem Weibe und freit eine andere, der bricht die Ehe an ihr; And He *said to them, "Whoever divorces his wife and marries another woman commits adultery against her; 12.  und so sich ein Weib scheidet von ihrem Manne und freit einen anderen, die bricht ihre Ehe. and if she herself divorces her husband and marries another man, she is committing adultery." 13.  Und sie brachten Kindlein zu ihm, daß er sie anrührte. Die Jünger aber fuhren die an, die sie trugen. And they were bringing children to Him so that He might touch them; but the disciples rebuked them. 14.  Da es aber Jesus sah, ward er unwillig und sprach zu ihnen: Lasset die Kindlein zu mir kommen und wehret ihnen nicht; denn solcher ist das Reich Gottes. But when Jesus saw this, He was indignant and said to them, "Permit the children to come to Me; do not hinder them; for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. 15.  Wahrlich ich sage euch: Wer das Reich Gottes nicht empfängt wie ein Kindlein, der wird nicht hineinkommen. "Truly I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child will not enter it at all." 16.  Und er herzte sie und legte die Hände auf sie und segnete sie. And He took them in His arms and began blessing them, laying His hands on them. 17.  Und da er hinausgegangen war auf den Weg, lief einer herzu, kniete, vor ihn und fragte ihn: Guter Meister, was soll ich tun, daß ich das ewige Leben ererbe? As He was setting out on a journey, a man ran up to Him and knelt before Him, and asked Him, "Good Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?" 18.  Aber Jesus sprach zu ihm: Was heißest du mich gut? Niemand ist gut denn der einige Gott. And Jesus said to him, "Why do you call Me good? No one is good except God alone. 19.  Du weißt ja die Gebote wohl: "Du sollst nicht ehebrechen; du sollst nicht töten; du sollst nicht stehlen; du sollst nicht falsch Zeugnis reden; du sollst niemand täuschen; ehre Vater und Mutter." "You know the commandments, `DO NOT MURDER, DO NOT COMMIT ADULTERY, DO NOT STEAL, DO NOT BEAR FALSE WITNESS, Do not defraud, HONOR YOUR FATHER AND MOTHER.' " 20.  Er aber antwortete und sprach zu ihm: Meister, das habe ich alles gehalten von meiner Jugend auf. And he said to Him, "Teacher, I have kept all these things from my youth up." 21.  Und Jesus sah ihn an und liebte ihn und sprach zu ihm: Eines fehlt dir. Gehe hin, verkaufe alles, was du hast, und gib's den Armen, so wirst du einen Schatz im Himmel haben, und komm, folge mir nach und nimm das Kreuz auf dich. Looking at him, Jesus felt a love for him and said to him, "One thing you lack: go and sell all you possess and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me." 22.  Er aber ward unmutig über die Rede und ging traurig davon; denn er hatte viele Güter. But at these words he was saddened, and he went away grieving, for he was one who owned much property. 23.  Und Jesus sah um sich und sprach zu seinen Jüngern: Wie schwer werden die Reichen in das Reich Gottes kommen! And Jesus, looking around, *said to His disciples, "How hard it will be for those who are wealthy to enter the kingdom of God!" 24.  Die Jünger aber entsetzten sich über seine Rede. Aber Jesus antwortete wiederum und sprach zu ihnen: Liebe Kinder, wie schwer ist's, daß die, so ihr Vertrauen auf Reichtum setzen, ins Reich Gottes kommen! The disciples were amazed at His words. But Jesus *answered again and *said to them, "Children, how hard it is to enter the kingdom of God! 25.  Es ist leichter, daß ein Kamel durch ein Nadelöhr gehe, denn daß ein Reicher ins Reich Gottes komme. "It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God." 26.  Sie entsetzten sich aber noch viel mehr und sprachen untereinander: Wer kann denn selig werden? They were even more astonished and said to Him, "Then who can be saved?" 27.  Jesus aber sah sie an und sprach: Bei den Menschen ist's unmöglich, aber nicht bei Gott; denn alle Dinge sind möglich bei Gott. Looking at them, Jesus *said, "With people it is impossible, but not with God; for all things are possible with God." 28.  Da sagte Petrus zu ihm: Siehe, wir haben alles verlassen und sind dir nachgefolgt. Peter began to say to Him, "Behold, we have left everything and followed You." 29.  Jesus antwortete und sprach: Wahrlich, ich sage euch: Es ist niemand, so er verläßt Haus oder Brüder oder Schwestern oder Vater oder Mutter oder Weib oder Kind oder Äcker um meinetwillen und um des Evangeliums willen, Jesus said, "Truly I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or farms, for My sake and for the gospel's sake, 30.  der nicht hundertfältig empfange: jetzt in dieser Zeit Häuser und Brüder und Schwestern und Mütter und Kinder und Äcker mitten unter Verfolgungen, und in der zukünftigen Welt das ewige Leben. but that he will receive a hundred times as much now in the present age, houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and farms, along with persecutions; and in the age to come, eternal life. 31.  Viele aber werden die Letzten sein, die die Ersten sind, und die Ersten sein, die die Letzten sind. "But many who are first will be last, and the last, first." 32.  Sie waren aber auf dem Wege und gingen hinauf gen Jerusalem; und Jesus ging vor ihnen, und sie entsetzten sich, folgten ihm nach und fürchteten sich. Und Jesus nahm abermals zu sich die Zwölf und sagte ihnen, was ihm widerfahren würde: They were on the road going up to Jerusalem, and Jesus was walking on ahead of them; and they were amazed, and those who followed were fearful. And again He took the twelve aside and began to tell them what was going to happen to Him, 33.  Siehe, wir gehen hinauf gen Jerusalem, und des Menschen Sohn wird überantwortet werden den Hohenpriestern und Schriftgelehrten; und sie werden ihn verdammen zum Tode und überantworten den Heiden. saying, "Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be delivered to the chief priests and the scribes; and they will condemn Him to death and will hand Him over to the Gentiles. 34.  Die werden ihn verspotten und geißeln und verspeien und töten; und am dritten Tag wird er auferstehen. "They will mock Him and spit on Him, and scourge Him and kill Him, and three days later He will rise again." 35.  Da gingen zu ihm Jakobus und Johannes, die Söhne des Zebedäus, und sprachen: Meister, wir wollen, daß du uns tuest, was wir dich bitten werden. James and John, the two sons of Zebedee, *came up to Jesus, saying, "Teacher, we want You to do for us whatever we ask of You." 36.  Er sprach zu ihnen: Was wollt ihr, daß ich euch tue? And He said to them, "What do you want Me to do for you?" 37.  Sie sprachen zu ihm: Gib uns, daß wir sitzen einer zu deiner Rechten und einer zu deiner Linken in deiner Herrlichkeit. They said to Him, "Grant that we may sit, one on Your right and one on Your left, in Your glory." 38.  Jesus aber sprach zu ihnen: Ihr wisset nicht, was ihr bittet. Könnt ihr den Kelch trinken, den ich trinke, und euch taufen lassen mit der Taufe, mit der ich getauft werde? But Jesus said to them, "You do not know what you are asking. Are you able to drink the cup that I drink, or to be baptized with the baptism with which I am baptized?" 39.  Sie sprachen zu ihm: Ja, wir können es wohl. Jesus aber sprach zu ihnen: Ihr werdet zwar den Kelch trinken, den ich trinke, und getauft werden mit der Taufe, mit der ich getauft werde; They said to Him, "We are able." And Jesus said to them, "The cup that I drink you shall drink; and you shall be baptized with the baptism with which I am baptized. 40.  zu sitzen aber zu meiner Rechten und zu meiner Linken stehet mir nicht zu, euch zu geben, sondern welchen es bereitet ist. "But to sit on My right or on My left, this is not Mine to give; but it is for those for whom it has been prepared." 41.  Und da das die Zehn hörten, wurden sie unwillig über Jakobus und Johannes. Hearing this, the ten began to feel indignant with James and John. 42.  Aber Jesus rief sie zu sich und sprach zu ihnen: Ihr wisset, daß die weltlichen Fürsten herrschen und die Mächtigen unter ihnen haben Gewalt. Calling them to Himself, Jesus *said to them, "You know that those who are recognized as rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them; and their great men exercise authority over them. 43.  Aber also soll es unter euch nicht sein. Sondern welcher will groß werden unter euch, der soll euer Diener sein; "But it is not this way among you, but whoever wishes to become great among you shall be your servant; 44.  und welcher unter euch will der Vornehmste werden, der soll aller Knecht sein. and whoever wishes to be first among you shall be slave of all. 45.  Denn auch des Menschen Sohn ist nicht gekommen, daß er sich dienen lasse, sondern daß er diene und gebe sein Leben zur Bezahlung für viele. "For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many." 46.  Und sie kamen gen Jericho. Und da er aus Jericho ging, er und seine Jünger und ein großes Volk, da saß ein Blinder, Bartimäus, des Timäus Sohn, am Wege und bettelte. Then they *came to Jericho. And as He was leaving Jericho with His disciples and a large crowd, a blind beggar named Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, was sitting by the road. 47.  Und da er hörte, daß es Jesus von Nazareth war, fing er an, zu schreien und zu sagen: Jesu, du Sohn Davids, erbarme dich mein! When he heard that it was Jesus the Nazarene, he began to cry out and say, "Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!" 48.  Und viele bedrohten ihn, er sollte stillschweigen. Er aber schrie viel mehr: Du Sohn Davids, erbarme dich mein! Many were sternly telling him to be quiet, but he kept crying out all the more, "Son of David, have mercy on me!" 49.  Und Jesus stand still und ließ ihn rufen. Und sie riefen den Blinden und sprachen zu ihm: Sei getrost! stehe auf, er ruft dich! And Jesus stopped and said, "Call him here." So they *called the blind man, saying to him, "Take courage, stand up! He is calling for you." 50.  Und er warf sein Kleid von sich, stand auf und kam zu Jesu. Throwing aside his cloak, he jumped up and came to Jesus. 51.  Und Jesus antwortete und sprach zu ihm: Was willst du, daß ich dir tun soll? Der Blinde sprach zu ihm: Rabbuni, daß ich sehend werde. And answering him, Jesus said, "What do you want Me to do for you?" And the blind man said to Him, "Rabboni, I want to regain my sight!" 52.  Jesus aber sprach zu ihm: Gehe hin; dein Glaube hat dir geholfen. Und alsbald ward er sehend und folgte ihm nach auf dem Wege. And Jesus said to him, "Go; your faith has made you well." Immediately he regained his sight and began following Him on the road.

...so I'm sitting here @ B Library working on a project and the table I'm at happens to be right behind a public computer and a guy looking at pic after pic of naked or near-naked women and also various sexual images.....its clear as day from where I'm sitting...

now I'm a heterosexual man  myself and like woman, but I'm also a Christian and don't like to see  women exploited for their bodies only, and am also concerned about the  effect that non-stop porno viewing has on people such as this  fellow...and what about kids in the library ? this is a serious issue..  not to say the body is bad,,,in fact the body is GOOD, God made Adam  & Eve and said it was "good"...

The problem isn't the body, nor the  naked body, nor is the problem sexuality or sex in general (and since  he's not looking at homosexual images I don't need to discuss that  here)...the problem is just the "raw" gazing upon anonymous images,

Of course, I don't like libraries that have internet so  obsessively triggered to block any & all websites that MIGHT contain  "adult images" (but might not; at one library they block youtube and  also a site named scribd which is mostly written documents, not a video  site, and definitely not aimed towards adult content) ..so the body is  good & sex is good, but lusting and adulterey in the heart is  bad..but what about when u r still single and searching ? is it ok then  ? I'm still not so sure its healthy. I don't even think a quality  relationship should begin based solely on physical qualities. Maybe  that's why we have a divorce problem in the USA . ..anyways, I also  posted a video of me at a library facetiously being "tempted" by adult  material on the website ("I confess..." ..with the point being to raise  this matter as an issue of concern and to talk about it, online, and to  give my theological viewpoint(s) as I also continue to grow and  learn...and still, occassionally, yearn for a committed relationship  with the right person of the opposite sex. God bless you all. Pray for  those who are afflicted with demons of addiction...

(by the way, last year they specifically said in one of ther pubs "please take lots of pics"..now he just said for first time, "please no cams" (inside theatre) (later, he said take pics during their award ceremony and said pics during the movies don't come out anyways...well, in fact, they do turn out just fine... but i'm not taking any chances of uptight film people sending me angry messages, despite professing to be Christians (like last year when I tried to promote a few 168 films by showing clips of their vids; fortunately, most of the Christian film people did not object and seem to be sincere Christians.. but the guy who produced "In the Hands of Sinners" really came on very angry and overbearing re my posting of a clip of his film...which, ironically, in retrospect, I realize now was actually a criticism of Christianity, not pro-Christianity...thus he was an imposter in the 168 film fest...; ironically, there may be too many film makers who are overly eager to criticize the church & Christianity itself in their own re-make of what they think Christianity should be..to such film makers if you say you are Christian, then .just promote the Gospel, don't spend all your time being armchair quarterbacks re the church)  ...(surprise appearance by actor erik estrada in "Inspector Sanchez"... to the founder and employees of 168 keep up the good work ..to nellie from the netherlands..nice chatting with you... remember me ? you recognized my name as Dutch.
