HOW I REDUCED MY TMOBILE BILL DESPITE 1st BEING TOLD I HAD NO OPTIONS (listen to audio)

10/1/10 on phone w/ Tmobile, SPEAKING w/ Mike a "SUPERVISOR" after CHRIS GRUDGINGLY connected me to him...re my phone & data stick contract...which I realized I am paying too much for at this point given new options with wi-fi (for free in many places)... Chris said I had no options & if I cancelled the data stick I would be charged a $200 early cancellation fee.

I kept saying,"There must be some options" & kept saying "Please let me talk to a supervisor" & he said "What can a supervisor do that I can't do ?" So I went into a long Q & A w/ Chris about it (not recorded here) & said Q:"Chris, are you a CEO?" A: "NO." Q:"Do you know everything a CEO knows?" A: "About certain aspects,no." Q: "Are you a supervisor?" A: "NO" Q: "DO you know everything a supervisor knows ?" A: "About certain aspects,no".

Exactly, Chris. Thats, my point. When I talk to a supervisor I know I can usually work something out, & so finally he connected me to Mike & at first Mike said "Chris was right", but I KEPT PECKING AWAY, esp. About the $200 early cancellation fee. I've been using the data stick with my laptop since June of '09 @ $59 per month & they still want to charge me $200 (the retail price of the stick) if I cancel, over a year later ?!

That's NOT right . I think Mike KNEW I had him there & SUDDENLY he "found something" ha ha..hmmm, neither he up to that point nor Chris noticed they could save me $20 per month & I get even more megabytes (which I don't really need, but I'll take them).

Funny thing is I heard these companies don't actually pay more themselves for more megabyte usage. Its just a random amount they charge for which they don't pay all that much for themselves, if at all.

Anyways, it just goes to show to KEEP PECKING AWAY when the first answer is NO, especially if you know you are right & know the average rates, etc. With so many places giving away free wi-fi these days you don't need a paid data stick plan (as much, altho there are times & places on the road where it still has its advantages, but you can also connect your phone to your laptop nowadays & get connected & I caught Chris in either a FLAGRANT LIE or ignorance when I told him about using my phone as a data stick with the laptop.

He gave me some mumbo jumbo about Android not being "configurated" etc, BUT THE FACT is I already TRIED it & was able to successfully connect (I wish I had gotten that on record). Was Chris lying or ignorant? He didn't respond when I told him I had already tried it successfully. Cell phone companies will take all they can get from you & call it "good business". Sometimes its NOT so good .  There's LOTS of options these days. Don't let them take advantage of you.

SOON I will take further steps to probably cancel the data plan altogether, but you have to take one thing at a time.
