Oops, the email was accidentally sent before I finished. I was saying that I haven't been feeling well lately & this extra stress of suddenly dealing with what came as a complete surprise doesn't help. I don't believe this is standard operating procedure for the LAUSD. I feel this is vindictive and frankly am hurt. Nobody has to tell me that they have the right to do this with an "at will" employee. I've heard it. To me, its not about legal rights & obligations, its simply about trying to help people. That's why I went into education. Its why I am trying to informally resolve this with the various parties as well. I don't need to be told that UTLA doesn't want me to informally do so once a grievance has commenced, if informal negotiations will help quickly resolve the matter. For me, this is not about "us" v "them" but about resolving an issue. Whoever helps me resolve it I consider to be on "my team" whether they work for UTLA, LAUSD Headquarters, or at a school. Its about resolution.
