10/11/09 EVEN ATHEISTS can be GOOD, but GOD WANTS us to be HOLY [notes from the morning message at polycarp church, stanton, ca [not perfectly verbatim, but partially] "God & Jesus doesn't want us to be good...even atheists try to be good...that's why Jesus was not impressed with the man in mark10.17ff...he was too attached to the things of the world...how hard for rich to enter k of G....harder than for camel to enter eye of a needle...shape of an arch...smaller & smaller, barely taller than a man...bring in cow or sheep, no problem...but hard for camel...on top of camel the nomads placed their possessions...couldn't come in with it...also the will & intellect can be "worldly things" to which we become attached ...in USA NOT enough young people becoming priests...in Vietnam , on other hand, so many going into church vocations....not enough space...in USA WE want to be good people...but that's not enough...need to be holy.start today,,,asking God,,,'What is Your will for me today, Lord?' Its never too late. Daily prayer.     THY WILL BE DONE...mentions holy rosary...virgin Mary was born & created to do God's will...
