11/09 (?) c-blog, GREATEST GIFT WE HAVE IS OUR VERY LIFE, SAN GABRIEL MISSION message (generally verbatim): "scripture reminds us that we will be held accountable..exercise faith, love, justice, give gift, receive gift, greatest gift we have is our very life, 1st reading maccabees...jewish martyrs gave their lives...persecution under antiochus...was what led to belief in resurrection from the dead, gre up in israel an expectation of the ressurection,,we know that in Jesus, resurrection is a reality, as Jewish martyrs were willing to give their lives, we should too,,,perhaps not in martyrdom, but laying our lives down to build the kingdom
