1/9/10 c-blog, DON'T BE AFRAID TO BECOME A SOLDIER OF JESUS CHRIST "...today we celebrate the baptism of Jesus..thru baptism we are called children of God...God calls each of us in different ways..wants us to respond to Him..serve God & people..today I focus on priesthood & relig life...when Jesus lived on earth & thru last supper..He establshed a new covenant..eucharistic sac..commanded disciples to continue good work...all the sacs in our church..in center of our life of faith..how find in ..to serve church..big challenge for many dioceses..in orange..# of catholics has increased, # of priests has decreased..currently 157 diocesan priests...have to hire 100 from elsewhere to help...now have 250 priests for 1 million parishiones...in 10 years from now if not enough priests. Who will continue the work of Jesus Christ..how to find & promote vocat of priesthood..begins in familyin my viet comm here we have higher percent of vocation b/c parents encourage children to b/c priests..currently 40 priests..ordained...God is calling each of us in diff ways...promises a blessing to those who do His will..respond to His calling...don't be afraid to b/c.
