The teacher across the hall came by this morning & asked me to tell the kids that the GSA is meeting in her room @ noon...I said "The GSA?" & she said, "Yes, the gay-straight alliance". I don't see much about this GSA in most of the schools I go to but the teacher I was subbing for apparently is a leader of the GSA & may be gay ...there was a lot of rainbow & othher things re gay culture in his classroom...& a sticker that said "Jesus is a liberal" & some pro-choice stickers. I noticed his picture on the wall & he is wearing a tank top, very muscular & one of the latino girls said, Kyeah that's himm, the blonde guy" (Latino culture, btw, thinks all males with light hair are gay or effeminate).
Nobody mentioned the topic while I was there. I noticed they watched a DVD hosted by ellen degeneres (also gay) during their noon meeting.
Apparently the purpose of the club is to unite gays & straights, but I can imagine it could turn into an attempt to make gay seem like just another choice of lifestyle & sort of indoctrinate people into gay culture. Its very sad
The good thing is I left a couple Audio Bible CD's at the school.
