....before the show waiting in line...LATER I just left the Tonight Show w/ Jay Leno w/ guest President George W. Bush & the musician Jewel ...Quick recap of what I saw...arrived at 630am for a ticket...only 2 in front of me ...gal from kenosha & her aunt ..came back @ 1230 ..got in line... group from north dakota ... minnesota ...bush..most disappointing moment was lack of wmd's but he added that hussein did have the capability to create wmd's ...leno added that hussein had threatened to take the daughter of bush (I.e. have her killed) also. They showed a clip of bushh @ ground zero...bduring the commercial break bush signed all the copies of his book that people brought with them...about 25 ..he was signing fast & furious ...funny clip of president bush dancing... a clip of bush & father @ rangers world series game 4 ...oh, they gave me a tonight show hat as an apology that the camera blocked my view during the monologue (altho actually it didn't block my view too much,..more so the fellow next to me)...guy sitting behind me..I knew I had seen him before ..british fellow..kind of looked like mick jagger ..I finally figured it out ..he was part of the crew for "moneyball" filmed, in part, @ dodger stadium. He was there when I was there...kind of grouchy that morning. Bush laughed a lot, mentioned his decision to stop drinking...said he was able to do it "by faith". ....when asked if he could "reverse" any decisions he said he regretted the "mission accomplished" banner on the aircraft carrier in iraq .. also wished the main photo of him responding to katrina wasn't the one with him 10,000 feet above new orleans...conveying lack of care when "in fact he cared deeply." He got a lot of applause from the audience..a very supportive audience it seemed, altho when I got in line for a ticket at 630, the gal in front of me said she didn't care about seeing bush....she just wanted to see jeweel, ha ha ...as forthe monologue he did a wisecracks about the new TSA screening..& used Jewel in one of them..then jay did a spoof on 99 cent stores ..after which he introduced president bush ...after the bush interview, jewel sang a song. Then they had Leno do a few re-takes, one repeating "harlequin romance" several times , & then say "crass" (apparently in the opening it sounded like he said "crash" instead of "cash.").
