Theresa de avila..doctorate ..carmelite nunnery @ 20yo...convent encrgd her to have visitors..brought gifts..helped convent.but she didn't want to slip that way..ot til age 40 did she devlp strong prayer life..should encourage us..way of perfection..spirtual classic..rcvd spiritual gifts..incl levitation..suffered poor health..@ 1 point malaria seizure..woke up grave..paralyzed..never completely well..despite illness..kept cheer & trust..for us our hope & prayer..arrive ..at peace whether healthy or sifk..even if sicknes distractts..theresa said all is needed is the will to love..she & st. John of cross..re carmelites..reformers..she ran into resistance.complained re persecution..god said "That's how I treat my friends.."....she kept sense of humor..
