1/10/11 MY FAX TO BLESSED SACRAMENT CHURCH, HOLLYWOOD

1/10/11 TO: BLESSED SACRAMENT CHURCH ADMINISTRATOR, I was at noon mass today (1/10/11) and upon arrival the parking lot attendant, Ruben, was disrespectful towards me. These fellows know, or should know, me by now as I have been periodically attending noon mass for several years . Yet upon arrival Ruben acted as if he had never seen me before and called me "dude" in a disparaging manner.  I confronted him then & there and told him he was being disrepsectful but then he acted as if he didn't understand (I.e. "no comprendo"), despite obviously being able to speak English well enough. Nonetheless, I repeated to him in Spanish and made clear my disapproval re his tone & attitude toward me. I wanted to let you know. I can't imagine too many new people wanting to come to church for the first time if they get treated like "stupid Americans" by the parking lot staff. It's not good for the church. As I left, he was puffing away on his cigarette as if he didn't care anout anything or anybody. Sincerely, A Friend
