Re SKYRISE EFFECT: THE BEGINNING of the END for LAUSD: Ironically, the move from the humble Grand Street LAUSD headquarters to the SKYRISE OFFICES on Beaudry was the "beginning of the end" for LAUSD . I was originally attracted to the LAUSD b/c of its humility & ethos of "servant leadership" ..but the skyrise effect ended that humility & brought in people who wanted prestige & power...& thought they were better than the people in the schools themselves.
