I NEVER REALLY THOUGHT OF MYSELF AS "GRANDSON OF BUTTERBALL MULTI-MILLIONAIRE" BUT IT IS COMFORTING WHEN I DO: Not too many know of my connection to Grand Rapids butterball founder, the late Leo Peters, my grandfather. And its not something I go around talking or even thinking about 90% of the time. But every now & then when times feel tough & I need some inspiration I think of grandpa & his butter. He founded the original "Butterball Farms" (& later sold the name to the turkey company, while retaining the rights to keep using the name with his butter patent). Unless you live in Michigan or nearby & dine at a few fancy restaurants, the only interaction you have with Butterball butter, or "grandpa's butter" as I call it, is at McDonalds where it is provided with every hotcakes breakfast in little patties. At the fancy restaurants or at Thanksgiving Dinner at grandpa's you get the "big patties" . That's the legacy that my grandpa Peters left. He wasn't the most generous or philanthropic person in the world, but he did leave a butter legacy, which I carry on in an alternative way, a legacy of Good News. The Good News Audio Bible is MY bread-&-butter, & although I don't get any financial benefit from the butterball legacy, I do get a feeling of pride inside when I think of what grandpa accomplished in the marketplace, & what I can do likewise, spiritually. God you bless you Grandpa Butterball. If you're in purgatory may my prayers help you.
