11/17/11 LISTEN to ROBERT TRUONG (aka King Cuu Long) MAKE HIS $99 MILLION OFFER 4 CRYSTAL CATHEDRAL ...This fellow from Vietnam who claims he is Vietnamese "royalty" & also a billionaire spoke at the Crystal Cathedral bankruptcy hearing. He says all his assets are tied up in Vietnam, but he still wants to buy the Cathedral for $99 million, twice the amount the others are offering.I was surprised the OC Register (see http://www.ocregister.com/articles/cathedral-310394-truong-creditors.html ) put his "bid" in the newspaper a few months ago when, in fact, he has NO money (or at least no money he can get his hands on at the moment). Whether he is a "nut" or his story has validity I do not know, but OC register should have checked it out first before making it sound like a legitimate offer. I sat next to him on Monday & he showed me a photo album of pics of him withvarious dignitaries in a few parades in southern Cal. He also had some papers showing some big #'s. He wore some very colorful jackets on both days. It would be interesting if somebody did a biographical check on him to see how much of what he is saying is true, if anything.Anyways, he stood up during comment time & wanted Judge Kwan to look at some packet of papers with his proposal but obviously, even if legitimate, it was too late by this time for new proposals, & even so, they have to be properly filed & served, etc.
